
SCBG’s first masterclass was a resounding success, with every seat taken it provided a great atmosphere for attendees as they got to learn about the wonderful world of preferments. Bakels test kitchen proved a great backdrop as they got to see dough being mixed and were able to learn many skills from moulding techniques, recipe construction, proofing and baking.
The tasting sessions were of particular interest with participants enjoying some beautiful Ciabatta, Sourdough, and Turkish Breads fresh from the oven. Bakers enjoyed learning together, chatting with one another and exchanging thoughts and idea’s, it was a great day all round!
SCBG would like to thank all those involved in the event and particularly the event sponsors, IBE, Staincraft, Manildra Flour Mills, Laucke Flour Mills, Fermex Distributors, Ignition Media, and Bakels. The committee look forward to welcoming the many new members that have now come on board, as we continue to grow we are planning on many more wonderful events that allow our industry to come together, learn, and prosper.
Our next event is our hands on Sourdough Class on the 8th of June, there are limited places and they are filling fast, please book early to avoid disappointment.

I had the best time here and learnt a lot from the bakers. The bread was exceptional. Best thing I’ve been to in ages.
